timber.

SO, we buy a house. We look at the interior and exterior, consider the thoughts from the inspector, and think that we made a pretty great decision. Well turns out one of our HUGE maple trees in the backyard is dying. And the cherry on top of the sundae is that the dead branches are hanging over our neighbors home. So do we take out a loan and have the tree removed? Do we wait it out- through the rough northern Michigan winter? We were stuck between a wall and a hard place, and we were not expecting to need to put money into this silly tree!

Thankfully, we (Lane) are blessed to have a large network of great people in our lives. Lane's cousin-in-law (?) is familiar with cutting and trimming trees and offered to take a look. A few complicated conversations and some game planning were involved, but long story short- our amazing network including family and friends, were able to cut down our dangerous tree and avoid any broken windows or shattered roofs.

and Gus especially enjoys his new found spot. Although there may not be any more squirrels running up his favorite tree, he did gain a great sitting spot.. silly puppy.
