welcome home

we're home owners!

Why not live the American dream all at once? Hardly a week after we got engaged, we closed on our very first home. The entire house hunting process took us for a ride, but in the end we came out on top. And now we own the home of our dreams. Thankfully we were both on the same page, and we could see the potential.

The house is in great shape -for being 100+ years old! We have a few projects that we know need to be done right away, but it is completely live-able at the moment. I was always one to say that I did not want to move into a "project" house. We could happily live in this house for 20 years without updating it, but there is a point when you need to make it YOUR home rather than accommodating for their home. So we will see how this goes :)

I think the greatest thing about us finally having a home is that we now have somewhere for us to be together. Long distance is getting very tiring, and the fact that we own a home is definitely light at the end of the tunnel. Now, each time I go to visit Lane, we can stay in our home - rather than couch jumping at his parents house (although we will still be doing that when we visit my parents) at least we have a place that we can be together- and actually just -be together. <3
